Another boost for women, this time an initiative designed to get more females into the digital technology sector.
Code the City, a charity established in 2017 to promote the use of technology to solve civic problems, is partnering with The Data Lab and global Oracle specialists, Inoapps, to offer two specialist programmes: Young Coders and specific digital workshops for mums looking to return to the workplace in Aberdeen.
Each will offer primary school children and mothers the opportunity to learn important, up-to-date literacy skills crucial to supporting Scotland’s growing digital economy.
The new scheme, announced by Digital Economy minister Kate Forbes at the launch of the Scottish Innovation Centre, The Data Lab’s new Aberdeen office at ONE Tech Hub, is seen as an inclusive and important step in Aberdeen’s diversification from oil and gas.
